Courage From The Heart - Recognized For Excellence

Courage From The Heart, my fifth book was recently honored by The Mom's Choice AwardsMCA evaluates products and services created for children, families, and educators.  The program is globally recognized for establishing the benchmark of excellence in family-friendly media, products and services.  Mom's Choice Awards is based in the United States and has reviewed thousands of items from more than 55 countries.  MCA evaluators are especially interested in honoring books that help families grow emotionally, physically and spiritually; are morally sound and promote good will; and are inspirational and uplifting.

Courage From The Heart, received the honor of Juvenile Books (Level 2 - Ages 9 to 12) Non-Fiction and earned a Silver Medal of Excellence from Mom's Choice Awards (Click Here for Certificate).  We are grateful for this recognition from MCA.  This book evolved through years of inspiration from children, those individuals who had a lifetime of memories to share, and America's finest...the men and women in uniform who serve in The United States Armed Forces.  The characters in my fifth book exemplify a nature to give of themselves and care for others.  Courage From The Heart remembers and pays tribute to the United States Army and Navy Nurses who were stationed at several U.S. base hospitals in the Philippines from 1941-1945.  These women nurses that were sent into combat were strong, confident, and kind-their kindness was framed in courage.

Courage From The Heart is a book that exhibits true and compassionate collaboration.  Jared Oriel, illustrator, Michele C. Barnes, design and layout coordinator, and Norma Rambow, resident of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, Washington, D.C.  were all instrumental in allowing our book Courage From The Heart to come alive (Our Store Link).  I am grateful for their work ethics, their friendship, and their dedication.

Courage From The Heart is an Intergenerational Story.  It is a book that instills volunteerism in communities and promotes literacy for people of all ages.  Bonnie Carroll, President & Founder of TAPS wrote the following endorsement for my fifth book.  "Courage From The Heart explores the power of connection, the importance of multi-generational relationships, and the insights offered through oral history.  Stories of those who have served will inspire future generations, as the sound of freedom becomes ageless, courageous, and personal.  This is America's story, and Glenna has given us a treasure."

As we continue to share across the generations, our own personal and professional journeys we can learn, profit, and flourish as a society.

Most grateful, Glenna (TheKind Kids Organization).
